In Memoriam - Ed DiIenno Sr.

Ed DiIenno Sr. was the late owner of the Warminster Green Sox (2008-2010).

In his first season Ed won the division title (89-73). His son, Ed DiIenno Jr., owner of the PA Steel Backs, didn't put up much of a fight against his father as he surpassed the 100 loss plateau (58-104) that season.

Nevertheless, a rivalry had started and would have continued into the future. The strength of Warminster's team was with its pitching - closer Brad Ziegler had the most saves (33) in his respective league as well as the lowest ERA (0.43). Their team ERA was 3.33, good for 4th in the league. Warminster's offense did just enough to support its potent arms.

Ed DiIenno Sr. was a beloved member of the APBA baseball community for many years, playing with his friends and his son. He helped out in the youth sports community for his children, serving as coach, commissioner, and statistician. No words can describe the kind of father he was to his children. His smile made his wife's day start and end happily. He was a rock to his family and was the best father and husband for whom anyone could ask.
